San Diego prices dipped for the second month in a row and the median now sits at $875,000. Sales remain near record lows and both buyers and sellers are moving with hesitation. At first glance it feels like everyone is sitting still. In reality this is the quiet stretch that always comes before the market picks up again.
Buyers are seeing lower mortgage rates, but they are balancing this against inflation, rising insurance costs, and the general pressure of the economy. It makes sense that there is hesitation. What most people forget is that slow seasons in real estate usually create the best long term entry points.
