San Diego Market Report 02/18/26
Simple ways to protect your home during this week’s storm plus a personal offer from me
We do not get many true rain stretches here in San Diego, which is exactly why moments like this matter. Our homes are built for sunshine and dry hillsides. When steady rain rolls in, small issues can quickly turn into expensive ones if we are not proactive.
1. Check your drainage today. Walk the perimeter and make sure downspouts are directing water away from the foundation. Water intrusion is one of the most expensive repairs I see during inspections.
2. Look up at your roof and gutters. Are gutters overflowing? In San Diego, debris builds up during dry months. The first heavy storm exposes those blockages fast.
3. Protect outdoor spaces and hillside lots. Make sure drainage channels are clear near retaining walls. Repeated moisture leads to rot and mold, especially in coastal areas.
If you are out of town during this storm and would like someone to check on your property, I am happy to stop by and make sure everything looks good. That is part of the service you get when you work with me.
